Democrat Senator Joe Manchin was not happy to see Vice President Kamala Harris push for the $1.9 trillion pandemic relief proposal on a television station in his home state.

Manchin, who is a relatively moderate Democrat, is working with mostly moderate Republican Sen. Susan Collins on a compromise.

Mancin reportedly said he “couldn’t believe” Harris did the interview and noted that nobody called him.

“We’re going to try to find a bipartisan pathway forward. I think we need to. But we ned to work together. That’s not a way of working together, what was done,” he said.”

Manchin is hopeful that COVID relief is more targeted in the future.

“If a person is making $250,000 or $300,000, I don’t think they’re in much as need as a person making $40,000 or $50,000. We’re going to target it,” he said.

Harris did interviews on stations in West Virginia and Arizona — both states with moderate Democrats in the Senate.
