On Thursday, U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) introduced a resolution that would have protected Senate Pages from the imposition of vaccination, testing, and masking requirements related to COVID-19, especially given the myriad of studies showing that for young and healthy people the risks posed by the vaccine are greater than the risks posed by COVID-19. Multiple scientific studies have shown a heightened risk of myocarditis for children and teenagers after taking an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine. Furthermore, there is consensus that the vaccines do not stop transmission of COVID-19.
Democrats yet again refused to follow the science and objected to Dr. Paul’s resolution passing by unanimous consent.
Below are excerpts from Dr. Paul’s floor remarks:
“This is a situation where Democrats are in favor of mandating a vaccine that puts their health at risk…This is obscene, and the Democrat majority should be embarrassed.”
“The risks of the vaccine outweigh the risks of the disease…Your healthcare is about you. You’re not a statistic.”
“Are Democrats so insistent that they know better than everyone else – that we will be beholden to bending the knee and asking their permission to live?…To participate in life, you have to be vaccinated three times? There is no science to back this up.”
“Even the proponents of the mandates will admit – if forced to – the vaccines don’t stop transmission.”
