On Saturday night, Des Moines Black Lives Matter protested outside of Terrace Hill, the Governor’s mansion where Kim Reynolds resides. The group performed some chants and also plastered some copies of a failing report card on the fence.
The group was upset about the charter school bill, in-person learning, banning voluntary diversity plans, a bill prohibiting schools from enforcing mask requirements and requiring schools to offer the Pledge of Allegiance each day.
It also failed Reynolds due to pushing the Life Amendment, refusing illegal alien minors, attempting to protect women’s sports by requiring students to participate in athletics based on their biological sex and other topics.
“When our elected officials don’t listen to the people, we take them back to class,” the group said on Facebook. “Tonight, we’re outside the governor’s crib. Kim Reynolds is a failure. And we have the proof. Here’s our report card for Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds. She has failed Iowans on every issue. We need Governor Kim Reynolds to VETO the Back the Blue Bill and protect protestors’ rights in Iowa. HEY KIIIIIM, USE YOUR PEN, VETO THAT SHIT.”
