In a true twist it seems Dr. Anthony Fauci is downplaying — DOWNPLAYING — the increased cases of COVID-19 cases in kids. Fauci appeared on MSNBC on Wednesday night and said since all children are tested for the China Virus when they enter a hospital — regardless of the reason they’re there — many children are hospitalized “with COVID” instead of “because of COVID.”
Fauci said some COVID-19 cases can be “over counted.”
“If a child goes in the hospital, they automatically get tested for COVID and they get counted as a COVID, hospitalized individual when in fact they may go in for a broken leg or appendicits, or something like that,” Fauci said. “So it’s over counting the number of children who are ‘hospitalized’ with COVID as opposed to because of COVID.”
This is not a new criticism of the way COVID hospitalizations have been counted for the past two years. Strange that Fauci makes the distinction now, but did not previously.
