Doctor Anthony Fauci told CBS News it is “too soon to tell” if Americans can gather for Christmas.

Leave it to someone from CBS News to ask.

Fauci said America needs to concentrate on getting numbers down and not “jump ahead by weeks or months and say what we’re going to do at a particular time.”

“Let’s focus like a laser on continuing to get those cases down,” Fauci said. “And we can do it by people getting vaccinated. Also, in the situation where boosters are appropriate to get people boosted because we know they can help greatly in diminishing infection and diminishing advanced disease.”

Fauci has routinely provided dire predictions involving COVID. Prior to last Christmas, Fauci the country keep its stay-at-home and social distancing orders intact.

Cases, though, have dropped nearly 20 percent between Sept. 21 and Sept. 28, according to the CDC.

Sadly, Americas 50 and older who are vaccinated against COVID said they’re more worried about the virus than the unvaccinated.

According to the poll released by The Associated Press and the NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, one in three adults 50 and older said they felt socially isolated at least sometimes. One in four said their social lives and relationships have worsened the past year.
