Aaron Calvin, the former Des Moines Register reporter who “gained fame” by unearthing a couple of old tweets by Carson King, called Iowans who showed up at the Iowa Capitol Monument Appreciation Day “right-wing vigilantes.”

Calvin was relieved of his duties from the Register after his own controversial tweets emerged.

Calvin celebrated bullying and said Christian values were second to white supremacy for Trump voters.

For the record, the event was relatively low-key. If there was any “vigilantism,” I totally missed it.

Earlier this week, Calvin wrote a story with the headline “Des Moines Police Start Riot at Iowa Capitol, Then Play the Victim.”
