Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), today took the oath of office to begin his eighth term in the Senate. Grassley will also become the dean of the Senate, or longest-serving member, with the beginning of the 118th Congress, which convenes today for the first time.

“Serving my fellow Iowans in the Senate continues to be an honor of a lifetime. I love Iowa and I love my work for the people of Iowa. Today, Iowa holds the number one spot in the Senate with my leadership. I look forward to continuing to deliver for Iowa. I’m humbled and grateful to be entrusted with the honor to continue working for our great state,” Grassley said.

Grassley will continue to serve on the Senate Judiciary, Finance, Agriculture and Budget committees. He is expected to become the ranking Republican member of the Senate Budget Committee. Read more about Grassley’s biography HERE.

Senate Oath of Office:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

  1. When is he going to stop funding the nazis in Ukraine? It was sickening to see our congress treating the grifter Zelensky as if he were some hero. He has shut down all opposition parties and media, and his Azov goons have committed multiple atrocities. These are the people taxpayers are forced to support. What about our own borders? That is where the threat to America is.
