Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-01) today called on Speaker Pelosi to send the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act to the Senate. This legislation passed the House with broad, bipartisan support last week.

“I co-sponsored the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act because the U.S. should not import products made with Uyghur slave labor in Xinjiang. I was glad to see this legislation pass with broad bipartisan support in the House last week, but now, Speaker Pelosi is refusing to send the bill to the Senate for consideration. It is past time to hold Communist China accountable for their egregious human rights abuses—U.S. leaders should have the moral courage to lead the way on this issue, not shy away.” -Congresswoman Ashley Hinson
