Congresswoman Ashley Hinson earned an “overwhelming” victory in her re-election bid according to her campaign on Tuesday night. Hinson led Democrat Liz Mathis with 54.05 percent of the vote as of 1 a.m. Wednesday.
Hinson called her win a “decisive victory” and said Iowans sent a “clear message” to Washington.
“We aren’t going to stand for the craziness being pushed by Nancy Pelosi and those who are determined to double down on the DC way,” she said. “Iowans are demanding that we restore fiscal responsibility in Washington, unleash American energy to combat inflation and that we secure our border. I promise to fight for these priorities – your priorities – every single day. I will continue to be your voice and an unrelenting advocate for our communities.”
Hinson said her only bosses are the people of Iowa.
“I answer to you, and tonight, I am humbled that you have put your trust in me for another two years. I won’t let you down,” she said.
