Today, Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-01) joined her colleagues in sending a letter to the Biden Administration asking them to reopen the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) and to allow for full in-person staffing to ensure veterans in Iowa and across the country are not facing delays in receiving benefits. The NPRC is currently only allowed to operate at 25 percent of normal capacity, leading to lengthy delays for veterans who need records to receive federal benefits and services.
“Limited in-person staffing at federal agencies has led to an extreme backlog of record requests, leaving our veterans without the benefits they’ve earned, and disproportionately impacting veterans in rural areas,” said Congresswoman Ashley Hinson. “That’s why I joined my colleagues in calling on the Administration to ensure federal agencies that serve our veterans are adequately staffed in person. I will continue working to ensure our veterans can access federal services and benefits without delays.”
