Rep. Ashley Hinson (IA-02) spoke on the floor in support of the Protecting Americans from Adversary Controlled Applications Act. Watch the full video here.

“I rise today in support of the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act.

Our bill is simple: it forces TikTok to cut ties with the CCP, or lose American users.

The day after we introduced our bill, TikTok went into panic mode. They lied to their users saying Congress was going to “ban” TikTok, and prompted young kids to call their representatives.

TikTok’s gross stunt proved our point. What if, on election day, TikTok sent out an alert saying our elections were canceled? We must act.

Today, we are sending a message to the CCP that we are going to deflate the 140 million spy balloons they’ve installed on American phones.

We are going to to protect our kids, our national security, and our cybersecurity.”
