Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-01) recently introduced the Reopen Schools Act, which would help students and teachers get back in the classroom safely. In December, Congress sent states $54 billion dollars for K-12 schools to reopen safely. The Reopen Schools Act would ensure this money is used for its intended purpose. Today, House GOP Whip Steve Scalise called on Democrats to take up the Reopen Schools Act rather than spending additional taxpayer dollars while schools remain closed.
My friend @SteveScalise is right—we should work together to ensure students can go back to class safely. My Reopen Schools Act would help students & teachers get back in the classroom safely without spending additional taxpayer dollars. pic.twitter.com/mSLiI4vDr7
