Here is some reaction from House Republicans regarding President Joe Biden’s pardon of his son, Hunter. But first, here is what White House Press Secretary Karrine Jean-Pierre said about a potential pardon:
Texas Congressman Jodey Arrington: “Biden pardoning his son, after saying he wouldn’t, is the least surprising ending to this disastrous administration. Pretty ironic after all the lawfare against President Trump as well as the Left’s and mainstream media’s continuous allegation of Trump abusing the power of the presidency.”
New York Congressman Nick LaLota: “Of course, a father would pardon his son, and a lame-duck politician might lie about not doing it. This is hardly a surprise. What truly matters, however, is the bigger picture: How did the Biden family make their overseas money? What did foreign entities gain in return for those financial ties? And most importantly, what are the potential risks to U.S. security from these dealings? These are the questions that deserve our full attention. Let’s stay focused on what really matters.”
Georgia Congressman Rich McCormick: “We all remember those questionable pardons made by former President Clinton. This time it is different. This time it is family. President Biden’s action appears to create an immunity shield for his son Hunter. Moreover, his assertion that the DOJ is unfairly targeting his son, a man who has confessed to serious and repeated criminal behavior, draws a stark contrasts with the DOJ’s behavior toward President-Elect Trump for actions that were well within standard business practices. The hypocrisy is suffocating.”
Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise: “You’ve been lied to every step of the way by this Administration and the corrupt Biden family. This is just the latest in their long coverup scheme. They never play by the same rules they force on everyone else. Disgraceful.” (He retweeted President Biden’s May 31 tweet claiming “no one is above the law.”
Kansas Congressman Tracey Mann: “President Biden’s pardon of his son, Hunter is wrong. His DOJ has refused to hold his family accountable while relentlessly attacking his political opponents. I look forward to working w/ President Trump to end the weaponization & misuse of the federal government once & for all.”
Missouri Congressman Eric Burlison:
Pennsylvania Congressman Guy Reschenthaler: “President Biden spent four years weaponizing the justice system against President Trump. Tonight, Biden lies to the American people and gives his son a full 10-year pardon. The Biden crime family’s time in public office ends in 50 days — and it can’t come soon enough.”
