According to a new Rasmussen Reports national phone and online survey, independent voters are more likely to trust Republicans than they are Democrats.

When it comes to the issue of government ethics and corruption, 41 percent of unaffiliated voters trust Republicans more while 27 percent trust Democrats more. Forty-five percent of those voters trust Republicans more with social security. Thirty-one percent said they trust Democrats more.

Interestingly, Democrats have more trust from their base than Republicans do. There is a 14-point difference in that regard.
