Iowa City Community School District has partnered with the Visiting Nurses Association to hold walk-in COVID-19 vaccine clinics for students 5-11 at 10 of the district’s elementary schools.
“A parent/guardian must be present for a child to receive the vaccine,” the email to families and staff states.
The district informs families and staff that, beginning today, children 5-11 are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine following the FDA and CDC authorizations of the Pfizer vaccine for emergency use.
Vaccines will only be provided to children 5-11 years old.
“With only one nurse administering the vaccinations at each site, please be patient and courteous as visits could take longer than expected,” the email states.
