The Iowa City City Council approved $75,000 for fiscal year 2020 to be split among recipients of the “Social Justice and Racial Equity” grant.
Iowa City is accepting applications for the grant program designed to advance social justice and racial equity starting in December.
“This grant opportunity is available to Iowa City-based organizations, both non and for-profit, with the purpose of encouraging, empowering and engaging social justice and racial equity initiatives through programs, activities or services that help eliminate inequities in the Iowa City community,” according to a press release issued by Iowa City.
The Iowa City Human Rights Commission will review all applications and make funding recommendations to the council no later than Wednesday, March 31.
