On Friday, Feb. 5, 2021, the Governor extended the State’s COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Declaration.
The Declaration suspended several state COVID-19 mitigation measures as of 12:01 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, including a statewide mask order. To read the entire declaration, visit the Governor’s website.
Iowa City’s mask order is not impacted by the Governor’s latest order and is still in place through May 31, 2021. Residents should continue to wear masks in all public spaces within Iowa City in accordance with the City’s order.
The City’s mask order can be read online. For more information about COVID-19 and the City, visit our COVID-19 resources website.
