John Deere announced on Twitter it would no longer participate in or support external social or cultural awareness parades, festivals or events after it was criticized for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts. A recent report highlighted the company’s embrace of wokeness and DEI.

In Wednesday’s statement, John Deere said it is always listening to feedback and looking for opportunities to improve.

In addition to not participating in or supporting such parades, festivals or events, the company said its Business Resource Groups will be exclusively focused on professional development, networking, mentoring and supporting talent recruitment efforts. All company-mandated training materials and policies will be audited to make sure there is an absence of socially motivated messages. John Deere said it will reaffirm that within the business the existence of diversity quotas and pronoun identification have never been and are not company policy.
