Media reports surfaced yesterday about a juror in the Derek Chauvin trial. Chauvin was found guilty in the 2020 death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
His attorney has filed an appeal in the murder conviction for a multitude of reasons.
However, the appeal may be stronger than originally expected as news has surfaced that Brandon Mitchell, a juror in the case, attended the March on Washington anniversary last summer. A photo shows Mitchell at the event.
A photo of Mitchell shows him wearing a black T-shirt with a picture of Martin Luther King Jr. surrounded by the words, “Get your knee off our necks” and “BLM.”
Relatives of George Floyd spoke at the rally.
According to reports, Mitchell said he answered no when asked if he or someone close to him participated in any of the demonstrations or marches against police brutality that took place in Minneapolis after George Floyd’s death. He also said no when asked if he or anyone close to him participated in protests about police us of force or police brutality.
