A Kansas nurse said she received a letter last month notifying her she is being investigated over allegations she has used social media to “attack” the transgender population and debase healthcare processes.

Elaine Gebhardt shared the letter she received on Twitter and noted the investigation has nothing to do with her patient care, just her decision to exercise her First Amendment rights.

“But, yeah, this totally isn’t a political witch hunt,” she wrote.

While the source of the investigation wasn’t immediately disclosed, Gebhardt posted a video on Twitter said people want to censor her when she says you can’t “trans kids.”

According to Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach, his office is responsible for prosecuting cases and said that no attorney operating under his authority will participate in depriving someone of a state-issued license due to exercising their right to free speech.
