Republican State Rep. Skyler Wheeler earned The Iowa Standard’s “Legislator of the Week” Award for his work Feb. 8-11.

Rep. Wheeler provided an in-depth undressing of the numerous factual errors contained in the New York Times’ 1619 Project.

In addition, he led the way in eliminating tenure at Iowa’s regent universities. Wheeler argued that tenure’s original purpose was to protect academic diversity — which is essentially no longer.
