Americans For Prosperity has a letter online aimed at Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer. Finkenauer voted yes on renewing the Export-Import bank recently.
“Ex-Im perpetuates the culture of cronyism and fraud that puts special interests ahead of hard-working Americans,” the letter reads. “Instead of putting taxpayers like me on the hook for giveaways to big businesses and foreign state-owned companies, lawmakers need to work together to unrig the economy so all Americans can succeed.”
According to AFP, Ex-Im is an agency that lends your money to a select few companies. If the loans are not repaid, you are on the hook.
Ex-Im has proven to have fallen short of its goals for job creation, export promotion, small business growth and increasing US competitiveness abroad.
From 2009-14, there were 74 cases of fraud allegations according to The Heritage Foundation.
