AI is redefining what’s possible, happening right here in Iowa. We’re already starting to see applications in

insurance, medicine, agriculture, manufacturing, and many more. AI is still in its infancy, but its potential to improve efficiency and boost productivity is limitless. Most crucially, AI promises to liberate us from the monotony of mundane tasks, allowing businesses to better deploy talented individuals on higher-value efforts. It’s the kind of transformational tool that already accelerates productivity and the very nature of our work.

With so much potential in AI, the last thing we want to do is stifle its growth at such a critical juncture. Iowa has the opportunity at this vital junction to become a leader in AI innovation, bringing high-paying jobs and new career opportunities to our state. While there is no doubt a need for responsible AI regulation, heavy-handed approaches will squander the benefit everyday Iowans experience from this technology boom. We cannot afford to stall our industry’s progress at a time when we need it most.

We must give our tech industry the breathing room it needs to grow. The future of our economy and the prosperity of all Iowans depend on it.
