Today we want to highlight Republican State Rep. Chad Ingels. Ingels serves Iowa House District 68, which includes Oelwein, Dunkerton, Jesup, Fayette and other communities.

Ingels has largely been a disappointment for conservatives in the legislature. Here is a glimpse at his voting record:

*Ingels voted against a bill requiring school bathrooms to be used based on biology rather than perceived “gender identity.”
*Ingels voted against a bill requiring books in schools be age-appropriate.
*Ingels voted against a bill that would ban sex change treatments and surgeries on minors.
*Ingels voted against Education Savings Accounts for Iowa families, allowing them to have a portion of the education dollars spent by the state for their child’s education to follow them to the school of their choice.
*Ingels voted against protecting teachers and students who refuse to play the “preferred pronoun” game in Iowa schools.
*Ingels voted against notifying parents of their child’s gender identity not aligning with their biology at school.
*Ingels voted against a ban on instruction related to gender identity and sexual orientation for K-6 students.
*Ingels voted against a bill to eradicate the DEI bureaucracy at Iowa regent universities.

But wait! There’s more.

*Ingels also voted against expanding Second Amendment rights.
*Ingels voted against the “fresh milk” bill.
*Ingels voted against protecting private property owners from CO2 pipeline companies using eminent domain to complete their project.
*Ingels voted against curriculum transparency in Iowa schools.

This should be a Republican stronghold, as Republican voters outnumber Democrat voters 5,267-3,693 in the district. Democrats did not field a candidate in 2022, but they don’t have to with a Republican like Ingels representing it.

Ingels called the bill protecting Iowa kids from harmful, experimental sex change treatments and surgeries “disappointing.” He claimed that nobody in his district is talking about concerns with sex change treatments and surgeries on minors.
