On April 29, US Senate Candidate Eddie Mauro spoke at the Woodbury County Democrats Soapbox livestream, discussing how Leadership PAC’s have funneled thousands of dollars tobacco, fossil fuel, pharmaceutical and big ag interests into Theresa Greenfield’s Campaign.
“That Leadership PAC money is full of pharmaceutical money, full of fossil fuel money, full of big ag money, and that is a concern for us,” said Mauro. “We don’t beat Joni by doing more of the same. We don’t get the transformative change we need in Washington by running the same kind of campaign. We don’t need another Joni.”
Eddie Mauro has taken and is compliant with the no corporate PAC pledge and the no fossil-fuel money pledge.
Eddie Mauro is a small business owner who works with small businesses in all 99 Iowa counties. Prior to this, he was a teacher and a state championship-winning baseball and football coach at the high school level with Des Moines Lincoln, Dowling High School and Des Moines North. He also worked in player development for the Iowa Cubs. Eddie Mauro co-founded the central Iowa non-profit community organization AMOS.
