Liberal Republican Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks put out a statement on Wednesday following her vote against Jim Jordan for Speaker. Miller-Meeks instead supported Rep. Kay Granger, who has a 51 percent Liberty Score.

On Tuesday, Miller-Meeks voted in support of Jordan for “the greater good.” But after the first round of votes, she said her initial concerns regarding threatening tactics of Jordan’s supporters increased despite assurances.

Miller-Meeks said she voted for moderate Kay Granger because she has “demonstrated great leadership.” Miller-Meeks made the claim that Granger is a “staunch conservative.”

After her vote, Miller-Meeks claims she has received “credible death threats and a barrage of threatening calls.”

“One thing I cannot stomach, or support is a bully,” she said. “I will not bend to bullies now.”

Miller-Meeks admitted she knows voting against Jordan is “not popular at this time.” She also acknowledged that she has received many calls to all of her offices and many have urged her to support Jordan.

  1. Mary Miller Meeks has consistently worked against our liberty and constitutionalism. Is any Republican willing to primary her? She has abandoned us.

  2. Her voters want her to vote for Jordan so what does she expect we elected her to be our voice not against her ,she will lose in the primary if she keeps voting against her own voters choices ,period .

  3. 3M asked Jim Jordan to come to Iowa to fund raise for her knowing how popular Jordan is in Iowa. Then she turned on Jordan and her constituents, voted for someone who had no chance of becoming speaker. 3M doesn’t give a rip what we want, she represents her values, not ours. We need a rep who can read and understand the Republican Party Platform.
