A new Rasmussen Reports national phone and online survey showed 86 percent of American adults believe it is important for young people to have jobs during summer when they’re out of school. Fifty-six percent said it is very important.

Just nine percent don’t think summer jobs for young people are important.

Opportunities are not expected to be difficult to find either. Forty-nine percent said they do not believe it will be very difficult for young people to find summer jobs in the current economy. Seventeen percent said it will be not at all difficult.

However, 47 percent of adults think young people will find it at least somewhat difficult to get a summer job.

When Barack Obama was President, the number of people who thought young people would have difficulty finding summer work was as high as 80 percent.
