Most likely voters believe Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign acted illegally by encouraging federal agencies to spy on President Donald J. Trump’s campaign.
A new Rasmussen Reports national phone and online survey reveals 55 percent of likely voters believe it is at least somewhat likely that Clinton campaign officials acted illegally, with 42 percent saying it is very likely they broke the law.
Only 33 percent do not believe it is likely the Clinton campaign officials acted illegally, with 16 percent saying it is not at all likely.
Former Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann is on trial, accused of lying to the FBI. Sixty-three percent of voters believe Durham’s investigation into the origins of the Russia collusion hoax is important. Thirty-two percent do not believe it is important.
Fifty percent of voters said the media is not doing enough to cover the accusations against the 2016 Clinton campaign. Just 31 percent said the media is doing enough.
While there is an obvious partisan divide among Republicans and Democrats as to whether the Clinton campaign acted illegally, unaffiliated voters believe largely the campaign did indeed act illegally.
Sixty percent of unaffiliated voters said they think illegal actions by the campaign are likely. Just 25 percent said it is unlikely.
