A new Rasmussen Reports national phone and online survey reveals 63 percent of American adults believe being a father is the most important role for a man to fill in today’s world.

Nineteen percent disagree while 17 percent are unsure.

An overwhelming 86 percent believe it is important for children to grow up in a home with both of their parents, including 61 percent who said it is very important. Fewer than 10 percent think two-parent homes are not important for children.
