Earlier this year NFL superstar J.J. Watt announced his heart needed to be shocked back into rhythm after going into “A-Fib.” He put the information on Twitter in early October. Now he is retiring.

Reports at the time suggested Watt is “fully vaccinated.” While verifying that is difficult, it is true that Arizona Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury said his team was 100 percent vaccinated in September of 2021. Watt signed with the Cardinals six months earlier.

According to the NIH’s website, atrial fibrillation is an adverse reaction from the COVID shots. Atrial fibrillation is described as an “irregular and often very rapid heart rhythm (arrhythmia) that can lead to blood clots in the heart.”

Watt announced he would retire last week. He said it “feels like the right time.”

“I’ve got a son now,” he said. “Obviously, I had a heart scare in the middle of the year, so there’s certainly some of that that played into it. But I’m very happy and am very at peace with it.”

  1. You cant blame the covid vaccines for AFib. Ive worked in a cardiac stress lab for 18 years and have been in on hundreds of cardioversions. The amount per year or the age hasn’t changed on average over those years. I haven’t seen any AFib or Aflutter that you could say was directly related to covid or it’s vaccines. Obesity, sleep apnea, stimulants, electrical conduction are the biggest contributors.

  2. Please read the known side effects of the vaccine. Yes, it could be hereditary or other but we don’t know if he has a family history or not. Additionaly, it’s just too many cases of young healthy atheletes having cardiac problems after the shots to not be correlated.
