HR 3860 was filed by Congressman Thomas Massie in June. He has added 49 cosponsors to the legislation.

It’s a list of conservative heavy hitters.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene
Rep. Lauren Boebert
Rep. Chip Roy
Rep. Louie Gohmert
Rep. Andy Biggs
Rep. Paul Gosar
Rep. Matt Gaetz
Rep. Mo Brooks

Obviously, there are others.

But there is not anyone from Iowa on the list. Here is a look at some of the state with representatives who are cosponsoring this bill:

Illinois
California
New Jersey
Colorado

So, those four states — and many others — have a conservative-enough member in Congress to cosponsor this legislation but Iowa does not?

How does this happen?

To be clear, the bill prohibits the use of federal funds to require members of the military to receive a COVID vaccination. It also prohibits adverse action (e.g., punishment) being taken against a member of the military because the member refuses to receive a COVID vaccination.

Yesterday was Veteran’s Day. It seems like supporting a bill is the least our congressional delegation could do for our men and women in uniform.
