Of the 18 Iowa counties that said they will send out absentee request forms, five are in the First Congressional District.
Of those five, only one provides a Republican advantage. And in that one county, it is just a 653-vote advantage.
Ashley Hinson is challenging Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer, who holds a 38,622-voter advantage. Much of Finkenauer’s advantage is due to Black Hawk, Linn and Dubuque counties sending out absentee request forms.
