The New York Post is reporting Khairullah Khairkhwa, who was freed in exchange for former U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl who admitted to deserting his post in Afghanistan in 2009, met with representatives of the Biden administration in Moscow to negotiate “final terms of the U.S. withdrawal.”
In 2014, the Obama administration worked out a deal with the Taliban to release Bergdahl in exchange for five Afghan detainees who were being held at Gitmo.
As it turns out, all five detainees who Obama released are now all apparently Taliban leaders.
Obama’s administration was told Khairkhwa was “too dangerous to release” by the Pentagon, but Obama freed him anyway.
According to the Post, Khairkhwa allegedly sat across from Biden’s enjoy to Afghanistan during the Moscow negotiations.
“I started jihad to remove foreign forces from my country and establish an Islamic government, and jihad will continue until we reach that goal through a political agreement,” Khairkhwa reportedly said at the summit.
The Post describes Khairkhwa as the “mastermind of the regime change.” Taliban fighters have said they’re planning to bring their leaders to Afghanistan from Qatar, where the Taliban Five were flown after their release.
