Jessica Margrave Schirm, a self-described parent of multiple children who live and go to a school and the aquatic center in Pella, Christian and pastor, said she applauds the city of Pella for “upholding the law.”

“Transmen are men and transwomen are women,” she wrote. “LGBTQ+ youth and folk in our community you are loved, affirmed and supported.”

Schirm is listed as a pastor at Grinnell United Church of Christ Congregational. She also lists herself as spiritual services coordinator at Pella Regional Hospital.
