Former State Sen. and current Polk County Supervisor Matt McCoy is partnering with GLBT Youth In Iowa Schools Taskforce (Iowa Safe Schools) to host a drag story hour at a Des Moines Public Library this Sunday.
The event is billed as a “family friendly drag story hour.”
A Facebook account called “Sugar Freakshow” announced they are “honored and thrilled” to be the MC for the drag story hour.
McCoy said the legislative session was “filled with hateful rhetoric and anti-LGBTQ+ legislation.”
“As we celebrate the end to this harmful session, join us for this family friendly drag story hour featuring Vana B & Robin Graves.”
