Senate File 2032 was introduced on Tuesday in the Iowa Senate. The bill was sponsored by Sen. Sandy Salmon.

This bill would allow the legislative council in Iowa to review any executive order issued by the President and not passed into law by Congress.

The council may refer the order to the Iowa AG and Governor for further review. The AG is required to determine whether an order is constitutional and to decide whether to seek an exemption from the order or a ruling on its constitutionality.

The state, a political subdivision of the state or any publicly funded organization will be prohibited from enforcing a presidential executive order that restricts a person’s rights or which the AG has determined to be unconstitutional and is related to certain enumerated subjects.

The bill was referred to the State Government Committee. The Iowa Chapter of the Sierra Club is registered against the bill.

  1. Thank you, Sen. Salmon. Sadly we need a law like this. We currently have a President and administration that cares not a fig that often their executive orders, that control our lives and have not been approved by Congress, are often unconstitutional and rob our freedoms. And often assumptions by the public think they are “laws” and go along with them. EI: masks, “vaccines”, close your businesses and churches and schools, open borders, etc. are NOT Constitutional laws, and do not have to be complied with.
