The Commerce Committee passed a number of bills out this week, these include the following:

HSB 688 – Builds on legislation from last year on third party delivery services and requires an agreement between a restaurant and a third-party food delivery service before the delivery service can use a business’s likeness or menu on their platform. It also sets some food safety requirements for third party delivery service.

HSB 709 – The current bottle deposit and redemption system is not working well. Significant work was done last year that would make changes to the system. HSB 709 is a starting point to continue the work with all the stakeholders to make the bottle redemption system one that works for consumers.

HSB 689 – Brings consistency to travel insurance and provides for travel products to continue to be offered in a manner that provides a seamless consumer experience. This legislation clarifies permissible and prohibited sales practices and also requires disclosures for consumer protection. These bills all passed out of committee with bipartisan support.
