It’s a simple thing, yet seldom offered. Representative Linda Upmeyer included a link to a survey she is conducting ahead of the 2020 legislative session in her most recent newsletter.

Upmeyer is asking Iowans for their thoughts on some specific issues. Other than the obvious positive of being able to provide feedback, another benefit to surveys like this is they provide a little hint of what House Republicans may be thinking they’ll do in 2020.

“The upcoming session is shaping up to be a busy one,” Upmeyer wrote. “As we prepare to gavel in, I want to know what you are thinking about some of the most pressing challenges and opportunities our state faces.”

Upmeyer does a good job of asking a few open-ended questions too so Iowans can bring up their own issues.

The Iowa Standard encourages its readers to check out the survey here. Make sure to let us know your thoughts on the questions and your answers as well!
