This week Republicans proposed and passed a ban on vaccine passports in the state. The only people who would have the ability to create a vaccine passport, would be the Republican-controlled legislature and governor and both have said they do not support it. So, passing a ban was a total waste of time.

The language in the bill was confusing and vague. If you support a vaccine passport, you probably would not like this bill. If you do not support a vaccine passport, you probably do not like this bill.

My biggest concern with the bill was the discussion and debate only added to vaccine hesitancy. Public officials have a duty to do what we can to put an end to this virus/pandemic. We can stay home, mask up, wash our hands, social distance and get this vaccine. I am fully vaccinated. I had mild flu-like symptoms after my second vaccine and was fine after that. I continue to mask while in public. I hope you are staying safe from COVID-19 and protecting both yourself and our community.
