I recently visited the U.S./Mexico border to view the problems our great country is having, firsthand. What I saw shocked me to the core, and it should shock and scare every American. We have a U.S. Federal Government who is not fixing this problem, and I can point directly to the Biden Administration as the main culprit, however, the buck doesn’t stop there. Congress has a lot to do with what is happening at the border as well.
You might ask why this is a problem that should concern a State Legislator. The answer is simple, when illegal border crossers make it into the country they are released and ordered to come back for a court appearance at some future date, which many do not. These illegals put stress and burden squarely on States and local governments. If not for the well managed state government that we have in Iowa, we would be in trouble.
I have helped Iowa to be a well-led, fiscally conservative, good government state served by citizen-legislators. I need your help, financially, to keep our state a well-run and effective government. Our state and others like it are countering the inefficiency of Washington D.C. policies and programs that are hurting our country.
I saw illegal immigrants crossing the border but what scares me more is the immigrants coming from countries like China and Sweden. Why are they coming across our borders illegally. The answer is simple, they are criminals, and they cannot enter legally. It is because of this that Iowa enacted a law to deport illegal immigrants. We shouldn’t have to do this, but we will do what we must to protect our citizens.
Last year at the location where I viewed the border crisis, Texas law enforcement seized almost 28,000 pounds of fentanyl and it is estimated that is only 5 to 10 percent of the fentanyl that comes across the border. That amount, 28,000 pounds of fentanyl is powerful enough to kill 2/3 of the worlds population through overdoses.
To keep protecting our great state we need the resources to send conservative legislators and bring back the majority again next year and I need your help to do that.
