Rhode Island Democrats are proposing a bill to punish individuals who chose not to get the COVID injections. Senate Bill 2552 would fine individuals $50, their personal income tax would double and employers would be fined $5,000 each month for each “unvaccinated” employee.

The bill is one more Democrat attempt to utilize the government to force citizens to inject something into their body — or else.

Currently the bill does not allow for any religious exemptions or consideration for natural immunity. The medical exemption is nearly impossible to receive, according to Liberty Counsel Action chairman Mat Staver.

A request for a medical exemptions is required to include notarized signatures of three “licensed physicians stating that the person is not a fit subject for immunization against COVID-19 for medical reasons.”

Children who are “at least 10” must have their signatures notarized.

“I’ve never heard of such a requirement of a 10-year-old who has no legal capacity,” Staver wrote.

The state’s Department of Health has the “power to investigate” medical exemption requests.

“And all of this must happen within 40 days of a person becoming eligible for the dose,” Staver added.

The bill applies to anyone eligible for immunization against COVID and resides in Rhode Island, works in Rhode Island or pays personal income taxes to the state of Rhode Island.

If the parents have their shot, but their child under 16 does not, they will still have to pay twice their state taxes.

Staver worries businesses will have “little choice” but to fire unvaccinated employees under the proposed law.

“The threat to double the income tax on people who are uninjected might be a moot point,” Staver said. “Because all of them will have been fired already.”
