Monday, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the Director of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases, applauded the work Iowa was doing to combat the coronavirus pandemic stating Governor Kim Reynolds has done a great jobcreating guidelines on COVID-19 in Iowa that are in line with recommendations for other states.

Iowans have been hit hard by COVID-19, but Governor Reynolds and President Trump are working together to support families, employers and employees.

Since January, President Trump has been working to combat COVID-19 as well as help those that have been affected by implementing over 100 action items including:

  • Worked with the private sector to help produce more ventilators, face masks, expanding testing and creating incentives to develop vaccines.
  • Signed a stimulus package to provide relief to families and workers.
  • Signed the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), a stimulus package for business to help keep their employees on payroll.
    • The PPP provides loans to businesses who keep their employees on payroll or bring back those that were laid off for the next 8 weeks. This will help businesses support their employees and help them to reopen once state guidelines are lifted.

Bottom Line: President Trump and Governor Reynolds are taking the necessary steps to stop the spread of COVID-19 in Iowa. By working in tandem with federal, state and local government, Iowans will get through these trying times together.
