Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02) introduced a bill to terminate President Biden’s newly created Office of Gun Violence Prevention. The Office of Gun Violence Prevention was formed in September 2023 as a way for President Biden to implement gun control measures unilaterally without Congressional approval. Rep. Rosendale’s bill would abolish the office and any successor office to ensure that taxpayer funds will not be used against the American people.64% of Montana households own a firearm, which is why I will not stand by and allow Joe Biden to use taxpayer funds to create an unconstitutional office that infringes on our 2nd Amendment rights,” said Rep. Rosendale. The Office of Gun Violence Prevention is simply another ploy by the Left to use Americans’ hard-earned tax dollars against them by instituting policies crafted by gun control extremists that attack our right to bear arms, all while bypassing Congress. This assault on our 2nd Amendment rights must end, which is why I have introduced this bill to abolish Biden’s unconstitutional office and protect our Montana way of life.”Congressman Rosendale is a true no-compromise champion for the Second Amendment, and we are always excited to work with him. His bill will ensure that anti-gun lobbyists are not quarterbacking every piece of gun control from within the executive branch,” said Tim Macy, Chairman of Gun Owners of America. This bill is cosponsored by Representatives Andy Biggs (AZ-05), Eric Burlison (MO-07), Mike Collins (GA-10), Eli Crane (AZ-02), Byron Donalds (FL-19), Jeff Duncan (SC-03), Bob Good (VA-05), Paul Gosar (AZ-09), and Clay Higgins (LA-03).
