It’s deja vu all over again.

This morning, Democrats shot down an effort to provide an additional $250 billion in funding for the Paycheck Protection Program — a much-needed lifeline for small businesses as they continue to struggle due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is just the latest example of Democrats playing politics with a global health crisis. While Iowans are losing jobs and small businesses struggle, Reps. Axne and Finkenauer, along with Democratic candidates Theresa Greenfield, Rita Hart, and J.D. Scholten, have remained silent — letting their party bosses get away with playing petty political games.

Iowa small business owners cannot afford more delays. But instead of providing them with the immediate relief they need, Iowa Democrats are standing by and allowing Pelosi and Schumer to put politics over the American people.

“Reps. Axne, Finkenauer, and Loebsack continue to let Iowans down. The COVID-19 pandemic has presented unprecedented challenges for thousands of workers and business owners, but Democrats have repeatedly ignored their struggles and delayed much-needed relief. No more excuses — it’s past time they put people over politics, especially in the middle of this global health crisis.” — Iowa GOP spokesperson Aaron Britt
