Parents say students were required to fill out a form asking about skin color at Ankeny Prairie Ridge, a middle school in the district.

The image says students of color are invited to sign up to eat lunch in a teacher’s room with other students of color.

“The purpose is to provide a safe place for you to connect with and support each other,” it says.

A number of Ankeny families are flabbergasted that the district is allowing what they believe to be reverse discrimination and blatant racism.

The Iowa Standard has contacted school and district administration. We’ll update when we hear from them.
