Bird is a lifelong Iowan. After earning her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Chicago, she returned home and joined former Governor Branstad’s team, serving as chief counsel. During her time in Des Moines, Bird served on the board of directors of InnerVisions HealthCare, a pregnancy center serving women in West Des Moines. She started her career as a prosecutor in 2016 and was elected Guthrie County Attorney in 2018. She, her husband Bob, and their son live on the family farm in Dexter and are members of All Saints Church.
