Typically results from Rasmussen Reports surveys do not surprise me. It seems I have a pretty good read on the pulse of politics in America. But I was shocked at a poll released last week from the Heartland Institute and Rasmussen.
The groups surveyed 1,016 likely voters. And Democrats revealed just how much they despise freedom and welcome government control. The results are alarming.
Fifty-nine percent of Democrats want the government to put in place a policy requiring unvaccinated Americans to be confined to their homes at all times — except for emergencies.
Fifty-five percent of Democrats — a solid majority — support the government fining unvaccinated Americans.
Forty-eight percent of Democrats said they believe the government should fine or imprison anyone who questions the COVID vaccine’s efficacy on social media, TV, radio or in publications.
Forty-seven percent of Democrats favor a government tracking program for anyone who is unvaccinated.
Forty-five percent of Democrats believe the government should round up unvaccinated citizens and force them into “designated facilities.”
These results are astonishing and reveal a great divide in America politics. Republicans and unaffiliated voters are not comfortable with total government control over the lives of citizens.
But Democrats seem to be more than comfortable — they seem to be desiring it.
Scary.
