Senator Joni Ernst spoke with Tom Vilsack on Monday on a video call. Vilsack is expected to be the nominee for Secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture under Joe Biden.

Ernst and Vilsack talked about COVID-19 relief for the ag industry and making sure aid gets to those who need it.

They also discussed the USDA’s role in the economic recovery of rural America, the importance of the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), expanding the use of biofuels and trade.

Ernst looks forward to the full committee confirmation hearing for Vilsack, her team said.
