Senator Chuck Grassley’s office released the following statement on his vote against a motion to proceed on the Senate’s newly proposed gun legislation.

“Tonight, Senator Grassley voted against a motion to proceed on the Senate’s newly proposed gun legislation after receiving actual legislative text only about one hour before the vote occurred. The Senate should be very thorough and open to additions or changes with such an important issue, especially when there remain serious concerns about sufficient due process protections for Americans’ constitutional rights.”
