During the Q&A portion of his time at Turning Point USA’s America Fest 2024, Ben Shapiro was asked for his immediate thoughts when he first heard the news about the assassination attempt in Butler, PA against President Donald J. Trump.
Shapiro said his security told him about it since it happened on a Saturday and Shapiro couldn’t check the news.
“My first reaction was that God clearly wanted Donald Trump to be President,” he said. “I’m dead serious. There is no way to watch that tape and see what happened – see how close we came to the President’s brains being splattered on national TV – and not think that God physically reached His hand down into the world and took President Trump’s head and went (click). It scared the hell out of me, but in a certain way, it was sort of comforting. When you see something like that, an open miracle like that, the first thing you have to think is God’s hand is present in the world and, for whatever reason, God’s hand is on Donald Trump.”
